The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Post-Katsucon Report/ Anime Boston 2013 Prep

Katsucon was by far the best convention I have ever attended, and that's saying a lot since I have been a con-goer since 2001. No drama, zero emergencies, and it was a rather relaxing convention

I had so much fun!

I got to meet some of my cosplay idols, spend time with my friends that I have not seen in a long time, make some new friends, eat good food, spend Valentine's Day with my girlfriend, and debuted my new cosplays! However, I did not have the chance to debut Meenah (Homestuck) on Sunday due to me injuring my dominant hand the night before

However, fear not! I have a Meenah photoshoot scheduled sometime within the next week or two, so the cosplay will still be featured

Now that Katsucon has come and gone, my main focus is on Anime Boston 2013

I am participating in the Artist Alley with my best friend

We have a lot of art stuff to accomplish before then

Thus, we will be very busy.
As for cosplays, I know for a fact I am definitely banging out Charlotte, The Dessert Witch (Puella Magi Madoka Magica), but all other ideas are still in the works. I will most likely have a definite list later down the line. I am also re-vamping Mami as well as getting together Love Ward Luka (Vocaloid),but we'll see how much I can get done with work, saving up to go back to school, and the craziness of life in general
